POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

The NOVA Swim School Learn-to-Swim program operates on a perpetual scheduling basis. Students are enrolled in a recurring day and time, which remains reserved for them until the family notifies the NOVA Swim School office of cancellation.

A valid Visa or Mastercard must be kept on file to secure your scheduled day and time. Accounts are automatically billed on the last day of each month for the following month’s lessons. Families who prefer to pay through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT/ACH) receive a $1 discount per lesson for private and small group Learn-to-Swim lessons. This discount applies only to the Learn-to-Swim program.

To discontinue lessons for the following month, notification must be provided directly to the NOVA Swim School office no later than the 20th of the preceding month. Failure to notify the office by this deadline will result in billing for the following month.

A $20 annual registration fee per family applies to the Learn-to-Swim program and is separate from tuition.

Pre-Competitive lessons are offered in 12- or 14-week sessions, depending on the location and session schedule. Tuition is due in full at the time of registration. Enrollments received after a session begins will be pro-rated based on the remaining classes.

A $20 registration fee per family is required for each quarterly session and is separate from tuition. Failure to pay tuition and applicable fees may result in the student’s removal from class.

Tuition is based on enrollment, not attendance. All payments are non-refundable. NOVA Swim School does not issue refunds under any circumstances.

If a family discontinues Learn-to-Swim lessons or withdraws from a Pre-Competitive session after payment has been made, a credit will be applied to the family’s NOVA Swim School account for the eligible unused portion of the paid tuition.

Credits are calculated from the date the family notifies the NOVA Swim School office that they are discontinuing lessons or withdrawing from a session. For Learn-to-Swim, the credit is calculated based on the remaining eligible lessons in the paid month. For Pre-Competitive, the credit is calculated based on the remaining weeks in the session.

Credits remain on the family’s NOVA Swim School account, never expire, and may be used toward future lessons or sessions. Credits are not redeemable for cash or refunds to the original method of payment.

NOVA Swim School offers year-round Learn-to-Swim instruction and Pre-Competitive programs at designated locations. Learn-to-Swim offerings include 30-minute small group lessons and 15-minute private lessons, subject to availability and the program schedule.

Drop-offs are not permitted for the Learn-to-Swim program. A parent or responsible guardian must remain present and available during the lesson in accordance with facility and program requirements.

Registration is subject to class availability, payment requirements, and all applicable NOVA Swim School policies.

Learn-to-Swim: Family Cancellations and Make-Ups

Families may cancel an individual private or group lesson and receive a make-up lesson, provided the cancellation is communicated directly to the NOVA Swim School office prior to the student’s scheduled lesson time.

Cancellations received after the deadline, as well as missed lessons for which no advance notification was provided, will result in the loss of that lesson. No make-up lesson will be issued for late cancellations or unreported absences.

Eligible make-up lessons do not expire, provided the family maintains a valid registration with NOVA Swim School. Make-up lessons are subject to availability and must be scheduled through the NOVA Swim School office.

Important: Notifying a NOVA Swim School instructor directly does not constitute official cancellation. All cancellations must be communicated to the NOVA Swim School office by the required deadline.

Pre-Competitive: Missed Classes and Make-Ups

Students enrolled in the Pre-Competitive program may make up an eligible missed class on another scheduled day, provided a class is available at the student’s current level and designated class time. Make-up classes are subject to availability and must be coordinated in accordance with NOVA Swim School scheduling procedures.

NOVA Swim School Cancellations

If NOVA Swim School must cancel a lesson or class due to weather, instructor absence, facility issues, or other circumstances, an eligible make-up lesson or class will be provided.

For Learn-to-Swim, make-ups must be arranged through the NOVA Swim School office and are subject to availability.

For Pre-Competitive, students may attend a make-up class on another scheduled day at their current level and designated class time, subject to availability.

School-initiated cancellations are handled separately from family-requested cancellations and are not subject to the family cancellation deadline. No refunds are issued for cancelled lessons or classes; eligible make-up lessons or classes will be provided instead.
